It wasn't enough. Those stupid rightist fuckers need to be gouged to death
or until their debt drives them to suicide.

Wow. Not a "bleeding heart" liberal, I take it. Drive them to suicide
until they believe in your politics.

Are you also advocating that the $2,000 per DAY electric bills that some
Texans are paying should be higher? Based on your assumption of their
political stance?

Actually, the Texas approach ain't all that bad.

People paid absolutely dirt-CHEAP power bills
for DECADES.

The problem here is not so much the occasional
"emergency" cost - it's how the power companies
approached the problem. They SHOULD have
taken out a LOAN to pay for the fixes, and then
slightly elevated the customers bills over the
next decade. Instead some of the idiots wanted
total and instant repayment RIGHT NOW - and
that's just not going to work.

Texans are getting to know the 50-year-old council and are not liking
what they’re learning. For one thing, about a third of its members don’t
even live in Texas.

A third of the board of directors that operate the state’s electrical
grid do not appear to live in Texas, and their performance in wake of
widespread outages has led to a Dallas-area lawmaker’s call for change.

Records show the two top office holders of the 15-member board of the
Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), live out-of-state. Three
other ERCOT board members also appear to live thousands of miles from Texas.

The thought of some Californian voting on our energy market doesn’t sit
well.

For another, it turns out that the board members nominate each other to it.

The ERCOT website biographies prior to being pulled down listed ERCOT
Chair Sally Talbert as a former state utility regulator in Michigan.
Records indicate she lives in Williamston, Michigan.

ERCOT Vice Chair Peter Cramton was listed as an economics professor at
the University of Cologne in Germany and at the University of Maryland,
the website biography said.

Talbert failed to return calls or texts by WFAA. And Cramton could not
be reached for comment.

The ERCOT Board elected Talbert and Cramton to serve in their leadership
positions just over a week ago on Feb. 9. Talbert began serving as an
“unaffiliated” director on the ERCOT Board on Jan. 1, 2021, and Cramton
served as an “unaffiliated” director since October 2015, according to an
ERCOT press release.

Other ERCOT board members who records indicate live out-of-state include:

Terry Bulger, who lives int in Wheaton, Ill., according to the ERCOT
website.
Raymond Hepper was listed as a retired general counsel and officer for a
New England company. Records indicate he now lives in Maine.
Vanessa Anesetti-Parra was listed as serving as vice president of
regulatory and compliance for an energy company. A social media page
lists her home as Toronto.

Texans were offered a choice - a conventional managed
power grid with a huge maintenence force (and big
monthly bills) or the cheapo Take Your Chances approach.
They chose the latter - and now bitch, after saving gobs
of money for all these years, about the real cost of
fixing things.
